PRECISION THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS

The FLIR name is synonymous with quality thermal imaging around the world. FLIR drone-mounted cameras are hard at work for firefighters saving precious lives, farmers practicing smart agriculture, engineers taking precise measurements and inspectors protecting valuable assets.

FLIR sees what the human eye cannot, and the appropriate software turns the invisible into clear solutions. Mounted to unmanned aircraft with interchangeable payloads or temporarily attached, FLIR cameras collect vast amounts of aerial data quickly and accurately in 640 or 336 sensor resolution, depending on the model. Radiometric models, designated “R,” embed temperature data in every pixel.

Advantages

FLIR Vue Pro

Step up in performance with the FLIR Vue Pro. The FLIR Vue Pro has fixed lenses available with a focal length of up to 19mm, and sensor resolution of either 640×512 or 336×256. It senses the heat signatures of objects hidden by vegetation or walls, even at night, and records what it sees in 8-bit digital video in MJPEG or H.264 formats to a microSD card that inserts into a slot on the camera’s side. Data transfers when the card is removed and inserted into a reader or when the camera is linked to a computer by USB cable. It also can record 14-bit stills. FLIR Vue Pro is optimized for aerial use. It attaches securely with a GoPro mount or permanently to a drone’s gimbal.

FLIR Duo R

The radiometric FLIR Duo camera series, designated with the letter “R” in the model name, produces the line’s highest temperature accuracy and detail yet. The FLIR Duo R senses and records highly accurate, calibrated non-contact temperature measurements in every single pixel. Aerial temperature mapping has never been as precise or as quick. That all translates to an unsurpassed ability to read even minute temperature differentials. In the FLIR tradition, setup and calibration are extremely simple and fast, in spite of the camera’s sophistication.

FLIR Duo Pro R

FLIR advances dual-sensor data gathering with the FLIR Duo Pro R. Combined with the highly accurate thermal imaging sensor is a new RGB sensor capable of recording full ultra-high-definition 4K video. As with earlier FLIR Duo cameras, the FLIR Duo Pro R allows picture-in-picture viewing of images from visible and thermal spectrums, including sharper image overlay. The highly detailed 4K visible imagery makes identification of abnormalities indicated by thermal mapping easier and quicker than ever. Imagery is MSX-enhanced. Carrying over from the FLIR Duo R are the sensor’s calibrated non-contact temperature readings in every pixel. The camera also has humidity sensors. FLIR’s MSX technology sharpens such details as numbers, markings and even facial details—ideal for gathering evidence.

Zenmuse XT2

The Zenmuse XT2 combines two cameras: a FLIR Tau 2 thermal-imaging sensor and a DJI full-color high-definition 4K video and still camera in one rugged casing that resists foul weather. The XT2 can mount to Matrice 200 and 600 series UAVs. Combine the XT2’s dual functions with DJI’s 3-axis stabilization and machine intelligence technology and you have unparalleled aerial imaging capabilities.

Real-time temperature measurements are accessed with a tap anywhere on your screen. View thermal and visual feeds side-by-side or overlapping for instant comparison and pinpoint accuracy. Get alarms when temperatures exceed preset parameters. Fixed focal lengths are available from 9 to 25mm. Choose from models with either 640×512 or 336×256 thermal resolution.

FLIR WORKS FOR YOU

All FLIR thermal-imaging cameras are competent data gatherers in daylight and darkness.

The small footprint and light weight of FLIR cameras—no more than 4 ounces—let you attach one to a drone without eroding flight performance. If you want, our techs can gimbal-mount FLIR thermal cameras to some drones even when they lack interchangeability. Talk to one of our consultants to find out if your drone will work with a FLIR thermal imaging camera conversion, or to get answers to any of your questions about FLIR thermal camera and drone compatibility. Just as a thermal-imaging camera can detect what people can’t, Drone Nerds experts understand what you might not in trying to navigate thermal products to find the best drones for your goals.
